Wassail
Our annual, much loved Wassail returns!
Wassailing is a Twelfth Night tradition with pagan roots, practised in Britain for centuries to ensure a good harvest the following season. It takes place in the weeks after Christmas and involves visiting an orchard for singing, dancing, drinking and general merrymaking.

Christmas Hamper Workshop - Medlar Brandy & Redcurrant Cordial
We’ll be bottling medlars from the orchard in brandy to keep for next years cocktails. In the meantime, you can enjoy your homemade recurrant cordial right away, stirred through a negroni, a glass of prosecco, or just with some soda water and ice.
10am - 12pm Sunday 21st December. Class sizes limited to 8 people.

Yaldā Feast
This winter solstice join us in our large fairylit polytunnel to feast on sharing platters.
This ancient Persian/Iranian tradition is a night when friends and family gather together to eat, drink and read poetry. Together, we’ll celebrate the coming of winter, renewal of the sun, victory of light over darkness, and eat some really lovely food.

Christmas Hamper Workshop - Biscotti & Seeded Crackers
We'll be making both sweet and savoury biscuits to accompany any cheeseboard, or to give as gifts to friends. Both the biscotti, meaning 'twice-cooked', and the crackers will keep almost indefinitely, and so are perfect to box up and give as gifts.

Join us for a morning wander about the garden, to see what vegetables and herbs we can find to make your own jar of spiced chutney, to add to a cheese board on Christmas day, or to dollop onto the sandwiches and leftovers that follow.

We'll spend the morning making our own mincemeat, so that in the coming weeks you can use it to build your own mince pies in a breeze. We'll make a couple of jars, one for you to use this year, and one to put aside for next.
Gardens For Gaza
Join us as we come together for Gardens for Gaza at Birch Community Centre to raise as much as we possibly can for Human Appeal, a charity operating in Palestine to provide emergency aid on the ground.
Entry is £2 and workshops will either be donation based or £5 each.

Bonfire Party
We cannot WAIT for Bonfire Night!
Three crackling firepits to gather round all day and night and NO fireworks mean a cosy time for all, including kids and dogs.
The day kicks off with a monster disco and fancy dress catwalk - with prizes! Join in with pumpkin carving and air apple bobbing, as well as tarot readings and face painting drop ins.
As the sky darkens a selection of DJs hand picked by Renae will get your feet moving and a grinder fire performer will keep you entertained.
Heading to a quieter corner of the garden you’ll find drop in craft workshops and storytelling.
We’ll have a well stocked bar including hot drinks, and special bonfire menu inclusing hot dogs cooked on an open fire, sarnies & smores.

Gardens For Gaza - Supper Club
A-KIN Supper Club - £35 per head.
We’ll be welcoming A-Kin Club to the MUD Kitchen as they host a supper club in the peaceful surroundings of the garden.
Sean and Gasim have put together a menu full of flavours from the Middle East to be enjoyed between friends over music and conversation.
All proceeds from this event will be donated to Human Appeal.

Beers In The Garden
This family friendly festival celebrates great beer, cider & wine, award winning food from the best chefs and establishments Manchester has to offer, alongside live DJ sets.
Expect celebrations & family activities for all ages, all held within the wonderful Platt Fields Market Garden.
This is our 5th year holding this festival. It has gone from strength to strength and we sell out EVERY year so be sure to get your tickets well ahead of time.
