Join us in Platt Fields Market Garden for a summer Konkylie Session – a deep listening gathering at the Frog House on Sunday 2nd of August, 7-9pm.

Featuring a soothing sonic palette by sound artist and field recordist Hayley Suviste, and a gentle improvised set by Manchester’s own Kora-master, Jali Nyonkoling Kuyateh.  

Konkylie is a space for listening in communion. It’s a space to rest your head and drift away to gentle sounds. Leave the world at the door and be held by the soft environment for a few hours - in community and presence with others.

Rooted in the powerful impact of sound, and inspired by Pauline Oliveros’ ‘Deep Listening’, the Konkylie Sessions invite you to tune into sound waves, in whichever way feels comfortable to you. Imaginative, playful and curious, Konkylie draws upon the folk myth of listening to the sea through a conch shell: Can you imagine listening beyond the edge of your own imagination? (Pauline Oliveros, 2005).
