Celebrating Multispecies Flourishing

  • Platt Fields Market Garden Platt Fields Park Manchester United Kingdom (map)

Ready to get your hands dirty? Explore the journey of food waste and find out what happens after the scraps leave your plate.

In a hands-on family-friendly workshop, you will be guided through the fascinating lifecycle of compost. Why leave all the work to the worms? Come and get involved and see how composting can revitalise our local environment.

Learn how to compost at home. Composting doesn't just help the planet; it brings our community together and helps nature thrive.

The Community Composting Workshop will be held in collaboration with Manchester Urban Diggers (MUD) alongside the MUD Market, where you can buy locally sourced produce and explore crafts stalls.

This FREE event organised by Manchester Metropolitan University is part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science 2026, the UK's largest celebration of social sciences research.
