Composting Projects

Over the years we’ve grown our own composting bays on our sites into mega compost generators, creating several tonnes a year using kitchen and garden waste.

We have built and ran a number of composting projects with the help of funding and external partners.

Below is a handful of these projects:

Community Composting

Funded by TNL Community Fund.

We designed a hands on training programme where local people could learn how to make compost at Platt Fields Market Garden. This included them bringing in their own ingredients and helping us expand our existing composting bays to double their size.

Guides were given out to individuals and groups to teach as many people as possible about the magic of compost!
