REGGAE ROOTS RUM is more than just a pop-up – it’s a day to slow down, eat well and soak up the sounds of timeless reggae in the heart of Platt Fields Market Garden. Born out of a love for fresh, homegrown ingredients and the bold flavours of the Caribbean, we’re serving a menu that brings both comfort and excitement. Picture 48-hour marinated jerk chicken sizzling on the grill, cold-smoked sea bass tacos, jerk lion’s mane mushrooms, and curried ackee & potato spring rolls, with plenty more plates made for sharing.
Our bar? From our Roast Pineapple Punch to the Strawberry Rum Punch and Sorrel Spritz, each drink is crafted with love, alongside Red Stripe and refreshing ginger beer. Non-alcoholic versions are available, so no one misses out.
The Music & Vibes - REGGAE ROOTS RUM is soundtracked by live performances from Dija Bhlue, with heartfelt renditions of reggae classics from legends like Beres Hammond and Sanchez, plus a special guest artist to be announced. DJ Marcel will be spinning those beloved Caribbean Sunday classics you grew up hearing in every household, while DJ Yiy blends old-school reggae with smooth modern R&B – bringing an energy that’s equal parts nostalgic and fresh.
Accessibility & Families - We’ve created a day that’s for everyone. The site is fully accessible, with a quiet zone for SEN visitors, and a pay-per-hour child-minding area run by a team with over 15 years’ collective experience. All our child-minders are fully DBS-checked, hold Level 3 childcare qualifications, Paediatric First Aid, and Safeguarding training. Families can relax knowing their little ones are in expert hands.
Parents/guardians are required to sign their child in and out of the child-minding area and remain ultimately responsible for their child’s welfare. While our team will provide attentive supervision during the booked session, ROOTS REGGAERUM cannot accept liability for any accidents, injuries, or incidents that may occur.
Important Info - Tickets do not guarantee entry after 2pm, so arrive early to grab a plate and claim your spot. REGGAE ROOTS RUM is about food, music and community.
PLEASE NOTE BAG CHECKS ARE PART OF ENTRY CONDITIONS.
