Alternative Pride

  • Manchester Urban Diggers CIC Platt Fields Market Garden Manchester, England, M14 6LT United Kingdom (map)

Join us for another year as we come together in the beautiful Platt Fields Market Garden. Come celebrate, explore, and delight in what can happen when the LGBTQIA+ community finds itself in amongst the flowers and veg beds.

Alternative Pride always has and always will strive to create spaces to play, rest, connect and grow. We invite you, the LGBTQIA+ community and our allies, to come together, connect to each other and the land, fill your eyes and ears with an incredible array of talent, art, and food and celebrate in whichever way makes you feel whole.

There will be craft and movement workshops, talks, gardening, incredible food, art installations, live music & DJs and more. Stay tuned for more details about the line up.

TICKET TRANSPARENCY

Please consider paying as much as you are able to allow the event to remain as financially accessible as possible.

This year we asked local artists to apply to be part of the festival and we are proud to be paying every performer a flat fee.

We believe in making a sustainable event that supports local queer artists, boosting the economy and hopefully supporting the wider network of queer people in the city.

We’ve also invested in paid sound technicians to make the sound the best it can be and this year for the first time our core staff are being paid to put on the festival. Toilets alone cost £600, that’s the equivalent of 25 supporter tickets.

If you know you’ll be coming and are able to, please buy tickets in advance – it really helps us plan food, facilities, and staffing properly.

That being said, we know not everyone is in the position to buy tickets in advance, so we will have a limited number of tickets available on the door. If you need them, please come down early to avoid disappointment because once they’re gone, they’re gone!

Apologies but we can’t offer any refunds for any reason, including if the festival has to be cancelled for any reason.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!

To get involved and for a free entry please click the button below to sign up and we will be in touch.
