About the event
Sessions are hosted in the beautiful Platt Fields Market Garden in the newly renovated children’s garden and ‘Frog House’. A typical session might include; meeting around the campfire for a round of names, group games, project work that the children plan and implement such as planting, harvesting and maintaining the crops, developing the children’s area, fixing the pond or areas that are highlighted for improvements. There will be time for lots of child-led exploration in the mud kitchen, craft dome, huge resourced sandpit, balancing course, bug hunts and role play in our toy market stall. There will also be opportunities for adult-led activities such as nature crafts, hand tool use, gardening, risky play, den building, bush craft and so much more. We will share a snack and hot drink around the fire that we will light and maintain together.
Sessions are best suited to 5-12 year olds (sibling babes in arms welcome for free). Equally, there are no hard and fast rules on age so if this session suits your family's needs then you are most welcome. This is a stay-and-play session so parents are asked to supervise their children.
Sessions are run by Siân (a Level 3 qualified Forest School Leader, Primary School Teacher and Youth and Community Worker). Please reach out to Siân to make sure that we can meet your child's access needs (07506342945/ email@example.com).
Forest school sessions will run in all weathers so please wrap up warm, lots of layers tend to be best with a waterproof coat and trousers or waders, cosy socks and wellies.

As forest school is the long term process of learning through play in a natural setting, block bookings by half term are advised to allow us to have the same cohort of families and observe the seasonal changes.
Multiple discounts are available to try and make forest school accessible to as many children as possible. Your ticket includes a hot or cold drink (depending on weather) and a snack for adults and children.
10% discount for block booking per half term block (8 sessions in Autumn 1):
£108 for 1 child
£189 for 2 children
£270 for 3 children
Tickets are nonrefundable unless we need to cancel due to circumstances such as unsafe weather conditions or COVID19 but you may transfer your booking if you let Siân know with 48 hours notice.
