We are Manchester Urban Diggers.
We make places for people to grow food.
Sam, Jo and Mike founded MUD in 2019. This was following the development of Platt Fields Market Garden since 2017 and the demand it created for our services at other sites around the city.
We establish, develop, maintain and renovate community gardens around Greater Manchester. Our flagship is Platt Fields Market Garden. We have developed PATCH @ NOMA. We are helping develop community gardens at several sites around the city with a range of partners.
We help community groups, businesses and public services develop ways of growing food in an urban environment.
We are passionate about sustainable gardening and food growing practices and aim to improve soil quality and increase bio-diversity across the city.
We create beautiful, therapeutic places for everyone to use and enjoy as a remedy to the busy city we live in.
We share and promote the health benefits that community gardening bring to local residents through Social and Therapeutic Horticulture.
If you are interested in working with us and would like to discuss a new project, workshop delivery or consultation, please email or call us.
